Next-Generation IR4000 Point Combustible Gas Detection System Offers Highly Scalable and Reliable Plant Wide Solution

The new IR4000 Infrared Combustible Gas Detection System from General Monitors is a highly scalable, reliable plant solution. The system's IR4000M Multi-Point Monitor can connect up to eight IR400 Point IR Gas Detectors and read their status with one command for a complete integrated gas detection system. The system provides reliable protection against explosive hydrocarbon gases.

The IR4000M is a display, relay module, and a data concentrator suitable for hazardous areas. It provides monitoring and control functions for up to eight connected IR400 gas detectors. The highest current % LEL among all connected detectors is shown continuously during normal operation. In addition, the IR4000M reads seven data items from each of the IR400's connected to it, at least once per second. HART and Modbus communication options provide complete status control capability in the control room.

The versatile IR4000 System is suitable for a wide range of hazardous industry processes and plant applications: LNG/LPG processing and storage, electric power generation plants, oil & gas production platforms, petrochemical refining, compressor stations, aerospace facilities, and wastewater treatment. The system comes with the following industry approvals: FM, CSA, ATEX, CE Marking and IECEx. It is also suitable for use in SIL 2 environments.
