Simple Brilliant By Design
Introducing; the Illumination Series of fiber cement panels from Nichiha. These vibrantly colored fiber cement panels, allow architects and designers to add a distinctive flair to both exterior and interior wall surfaces.
"Part of our mission at Nichiha is to push the envelope of what the industry thinks it believes fiber cement siding is," states Darrin Haugan, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Nichiha. "The Illumination Series panels was conceived from the need to provide an exterior cladding product that provides the same look as traditional metal panels, yet at a lower installed cost. This design style that we see primarily in upscale retail and hospitality construction, prompted us to create the series."
The lush hues of nature include; a richly toned Sienna, a luminous Oyster gray, a lush Umber as well as a verdant Patina and blue-gray Storm colored panel. "Not only did we field test these colors in terms of attractiveness within the architectural community, but we also formulated the colors to complement our other panel products of brick, stone and block", adds Haugan. "In actuality what we've done is expand our product line tenfold, as the combinations of mix-and-matching our panel products have increased dramatically. Where as before a few of our panels, when used together looked great, now the combinations are considerable, and as one of the cornerstones of our brand, providing design flexibility, this new product addition provides integrated value to architects and specifiers on many different levels."
The reality of lower installed costs (materials plus labor) coupled with a fifty-year warranty, the Illumination Series panels from Nichiha are a product architects should sit-up and take notice. Installing nine square feet at a time, the eighteen-inch by six-foot panels install easily with the patented Nichiha clip installation system. This system provides a pocket of air between the panel and substrate allowing for air circulation, helping to reduce moisture build up and the potential of substrate damage.
The Value Of Building Green
At Nichiha the mission for over fifty years has been to utilize the natural resources entrusted to all of us with the utmost environmental diligence. Focusing their efforts of minimizing their impact on the environment in every phase of manufacturing and material handling, Nichiha products are manufactured from recycled post-consumer and industrial waste, delivering products which are intrinsically better for the environment.
"Nichiha is highly committed to social responsibility and making every effort of respectful stewardship of our resources. We accomplish this by utilizing ecologically-minded materials and manufacturing techniques," add Haugan. "One highlight of this achievement can be seen in the on-site water treatment and reuse system at our Macon, Georgia facility. This system enables us to recycle ninety-five percent of all water used in the manufacturing process." Nichiha fiber cement claddings contribute to LEED's building credits.
