OERLIKON LEYBOLD VACUUM EXPANDS PRODUCT LINE

TO INCLUDE EXPLOSION-RESISTANT VACUUM BOOSTERS

Export, PA, May 2008 – Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum has strengthened its ability to serve the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with the introduction of a RUVAC® series of vacuum boosters. These rugged and reliable boosters are designed for use in areas of manufacturing facilities where ignitable mixtures are present. The boosters, which include the RUVAC WA251, 501, 1001 and 2001 models, are ideal for hazardous gas or vapor conditions ATEX Category 3 (Class 1, Division 2) and under normal operating conditions ATEX Category 2 (Class 1, Division 1). These boosters operate in the pumping speed range of 250-2,000 m³/h and are equipped with temperature sensors which monitor gas temperature at the boosters' hottest points. The temperature sensor can be connected to the motor control to shut-down the booster in the unlikely event of high temperature.
