Under everyday conditions the ONTO® species is unreactive. When exposed to heat, UV or another suitable energy form the head group is activated and can bind with almost anything. For example, it will bind with plastics (polymers), diamond, metals and minerals

Attached to the 'Reactive Head' is a 'Functional Tail'. When the ONTO® species is bound to a surface this provides a new effect which modifies the surface to deliver application-specific functionality.

The reactivity and control of ONTO® provides for versatile and effective surface modification. We leverage the technology on its own or in combination with polymers and particles using four main methods.
