A lightweight portable 1.1 horsepower trash pump ideal for pumping sand and debris laden water, with minimal wear and clogging, has been introduced by ITT Flygt Corp., Trumbull, CT. Designated as model Ready 8S, the pump can handle solids up to 1-1/2" in size. Weighing only 33 lbs, the pump can be carried easily to any site. Despite its small size, the unit reaches 36 ft of head and pumps up to 110 gpm.
Ready 8S, with a 2" NPSM discharge, is constructed of stainless steel and synthetic materials, making it resistant to wear and corrosion. The abrasion resistant silicon carbide seal faces are designed for long life and minimal wear.
With built-in overload protection, Ready 8S is powered by single phase 115 or 230 Volt power. The class F insulated motor, operating in air, is safer, more efficient, and easier to service than oil-filled motors.
