Panasonic Electric Works introduced its newest digital AC servo drive systems, the A4P series. The A4P series, based from the A4-Series digital AC servo drives, is the solution for simple positioning control, featuring a built-in indexing profiler, up to 60 steps. Through the same intuitive software used for real-time Auto-tuning, the steps can executed alone or by blocks from digital inputs, reducing the overall cost by eliminating the need of an external motion controller. The A4P series have a slim profile/power ratio, carry global certification such as UL and CE, and cover a power range from 50W to 5.0kW. Along with a velocity response (bandwidth) of 1kHz, the drives offer a high-functionality Real-Time Auto-Gain Tuning, to react to even variations of load inertia. The Real-Time Auto-Gain Tuning give the user the ability to select the stiffness of the machines from low to high with a combination of an adaptive filter, 2-channel notch filters, damping control and supports vertical axis applications. Setup can be performed by keypad or with the setup software, PANATERM?. The A4 series motors have metric mounting flanges and shafts dimensions, and are capable to produce speed up to 5,000 rpm. IP65 rating is standard on all the motors and any motor can be ordered with an optional oil seal and holding brake. The use of serial encoders reduces the numbers of wire from 11 to 5 for the standard incremental encoder (2,500 pulse/rev) and from 14 to 7 for the optional 17-bit absolute encoder. The combination of the newly redesigned A4 series motors and the A4P series digital AC servo drives produces a simple, easy to use motion control system for a large variety of motion control applications, such indexing tables, constant feeding and repeating applications or any others applications, which require simple accurate positioning control along with high speed and torque.
