  • 10 or 15 watts switching - Very high packing density
  • Internal mu-metal magnetic screen
  • Stacks on 0.15 X 0.27 pitch

The Series 115 uses the same Form A switch and coil assemblies as the established Series 106, 107, 108, 109, 109P and 110. Two types of sputtered ruthenium switches are available. Switch type 1 is a very robust general purpose switch, now rated to 15 Watts, 0.75 Amps switching. Switch type 2 is better suited to low level or 'cold' switching. Both types will carry 1.2 Amps. Initially single pole versions only are available in this range. 1 and 2 pole versions are available in both the Series 116 and 117.

These relays include an internal mu-metal magnetic screen which permits side-by-side packing with no risk of problems due to magnetic interaction.

  • Smallest board area. 0.15 x 0.27 inches .(3.8mm x 6.8mm)
  • Up to 15 Watts, 0.75 Amps rating
  • 5 or 12 Volt coils with optional diode

Pickering Electronics - A Brief History

Pickering Electronics was formed in January 1968, with the aim to design and manufacture high quality reed relays, intended principally for use in Instrumentation and Test equipment.

Today, Pickering's Single-in-Line (SIL) range is by far the most developed in the relay industry with relays 25% the size of many of their competitors. The small SIL relays are sold in high volumes to large ATE companies throughout the world.

Pickering relays have many advantages over the more usual 'Hard Moulded' construction. They are constructed using SoftCenter TM technology which greatly reduces stress on the delicate glass reed switch capsule for maximum life and performance. Mu-metal magnetic screening allows high packing density without the risk of problems due to magnetic interaction between relays. Pickering Electronics is an ISO 9001 certified company.

Due to the unique nature of our relays, much of our production machinery is designed and manufactured by our engineering staff. Above is part of the production equipment used in the manufacture of our popular Series 109P Single-in-Line relay. This is the finishing stage in the production of the popular Series 109P relay. The relay enters this stage from the right. The unwanted part of the leadframe (the salvage bar) is removed leaving the connection pins of the relay at the finished length. The relay is then removed from the salvage plastic part and moves on to have the part number and Pickering name printed on the top face. After this, the relay passes an ink jet print head which applies the date code to the side of the relay. The finished part exits this stage and is passed to our Test Department for thermal cycling and Final Test. We do not sample test. All Pickering relays are tested for every operating parameter.
