PICO Chemical Corporation announces a new environmentally friendly (pH neutral) rust remover called PICOCLEAN X-RUST that will save manufacturers money by eliminating the downgrading or scrapping of parts. This unique value-added water based chemical was developed to meet industrial requirements for recovering processed steel parts that have been tarnished by rust and scale during storage and transit. PICOCLEAN X-RUST is easy to use, highly effective and provides complete rust removal even from the pores of the metal's surface.

PICOCLEAN X-RUST concentrate does not contain harsh acids or caustics so that it is easy and safe to mix with water for use in immersion or ultrasonic tank equipment. PICOCLEAN X-RUST should be used at 15-25% concentration between ambient and 180°F temperatures. Rust removal times will depend on concentration, agitation, temperature and the severity of the steel's corrosion and surface condition. De-rusted parts may even be painted without rinsing or cleaning. PICOCLEAN X-RUST passivates all ferrous surfaces and does not need to be removed prior to post process operations such as painting or welding.

Uncoated steel products including bars, sheets, stampings, forgings and machined parts can be subject to high humidity, water condensation, longer than normal storage times and corrosive atmospheres that can attack bare steel or even penetrate light plant applied oil/solvent films. When steel gets rusty, it is often scrapped or mechanically cleaned which can be very expensive, time consuming and impact a manufacturer's productivity. PICOCLEAN X-RUST eliminates these problems by providing, in a single cleaning, a rust-free steel surface.
