Portec Flomaster Belt Merge Conveyors facilitate the merging of two or more conveyor lines into a single product transport line and provide a solution to belt tracking problems found whenever a short wide belt conveyor is utilized. Manufactured by the world's most reliable producer of specialty conveyor equipment, Belt Merge Conveyors eliminate side load tracking problems encountered on regular belt conveyors. These units are specially designed for manufacturing, warehouse/distribution center and airline baggage pplications. An optional series of fixed position bed idler rollers allows for the safe, smooth transition of extra-heavy product loads. STANDARD FEATURES Belting: Standard heavy duty Black Slip-Top with laced seam. Frame Construction: Heavy duty 10.625" high side frame. All steel construction. Larger frames can be built in multiple sections for ease of handling and installation. Stainless steel/washdown available as an option. Belt Drive System: The belt is positively driven by a shaft-mounted sprocket engaging #50 precision roller chain that is attached to the side of the belt. The positive chain-driven system from Portec is not effected by the following conditions that can damage friction-driven belt conveyors:
- Sudden load on the belt
- Temperature variations
- Contamination on or under the belt
- Incorrect belt tension
- High cycling operation
Belt Tracking: The belt is held in place by a chain that is attached to the side of the belt and runs in a track. Double chains are used when the merging operation is in both lateral directions. End Rolls: 5.8" diameter fabricated steel end roll on 1.9375" diameter shafts. End Roll Sprockets: 50B30 steel sprockets. Drive sprockets on double chain models have matched keyways to ensure proper chain engagement. End Roll Bearings: Precision, sealed for life, and fitted in a cast iron housing. Grease fitting for the selfaligning feature. Nickel-plated housings are available as an option. Belt Speeds: The Portec Belt Merge is capable of continuous operation at high speeds, heavy loads and high cycle rates. Sideguards: Standard sideguards are fabricated from 14 gauge steel. Sideguards over 6" height will have a .75" outward facing top flange. The distance between the sideguards is 3" wider than the exposed belt width.The between sideguard width is equal to the exposed belt width on double chain models and 1" wider than the exposed belt width on single chain models. Paint: DTM (Direct to Metal) enamel paint in 5 colors. A wide range of optional colors and paint types are available. Diverters: Fixed or power-faced diverters are custom-designed for your installation.
