New High Performance Driver for Brushless Motors

Portescap introduces its new ROHS compliant EBL-H-50-03 brushless driver, specifically engineered for Portescap high performance Brushless motors. With a powerful speed range of 90,000 RPM, and a maximum current output of 12 amps, the amplifier provides a continuous current output of 3 amps and a supply voltage of 5.5-50 Volts. Weighing in at under 2 oz, the new amplifier is able to provide a broad supply voltage range, which makes the driver capable of controlling the smaller 13mm BLDC motors to the larger 30mm motors.

Also noteworthy is the included thermal, short and over current protection. An optional feature allows for current limitation at start up to protect surrounding equipment, which can come in handy for things such as improving the life of a battery pack in a medical respirator, while the internal current ripple control minimizes increases in motor heat. With increases protection and generous flexibility, this new amplifier is well suited for applications where efficiency, high acceleration and safety features are key, such as medical devices.
