Multi-point Non-contact Thickness Measurement of Glass Bottles
The CHRocodile M4 from Precitec, Inc., is a multi-point, non-contact instrument for measuring glass container thickness in a production environment.
High temperatures of 700°C (1200°F) are not a problem for the robust optical probe, which makes this high-speed measurement system ideal for hot end or cold end applications. The modular configuration provides an economical solution for inline inspections of flat and container glass. Up to four probes and sensors can be piggybacked on one rack system.
The remote sensor/processor has the capability to output digital signals via RS 232 or RS 422 for data collection as well as analog for controller feedback. With a rate of 4000 measuring points per second, even minor flaws can be detected at high conveyor speeds.
Clear or colored glass makes no difference to the CHRocodile M4. Heat waves do not distort measurement results as they would with many other products on the market.
CHRocodile M4 accurately and quickly measures glass thickness from 2μm up to 35mm.
