PPS was recently challenged by its customers to develop the world's first and most advanced dynamic contact pressure measurement system for tires. To meet this challenge, PPS developed a unique 48 x 40 tactile array sensor with 4 mm resolution ( interpolated to 1mm ) and up to 220Hz frame rate for an equivalent sampling rate of over 420kHz. This state-of-the-art system is now being used by one of the world's largest tire manufactures for the purpose of product design and performance evaluation.
