PPS RoboTouch systems were developed to give robotic hands the sense of touch. RoboTouch systems includes up to seven sensing pads, each with 20-24 sensing elements. They can be placed on the location of your choosing including robot fingertips, grippers and palm surfaces.
Each individual pad is constructed using patented capacitive-based pressure sensing technology, ensuring the high sensitivity needed for tactile applications. Data from each pad is processed by a dedicated PSOC with an I2C output, which can be directly integrated with your application or connected via a USB and PPS-provided board. The pads can be attached with low-tac double-sided adhesive bands for positive locating and easy removal.
RoboTouch sensors are designed for specific robot hand and robot gripper designs.
