The sensor has been specially designed to operate in the high pressures and CO2 concentrations related to the requirements of environments including submarines, hyperbaric chambers, dive chambers, ROVs and AUVs and many more custom applications.
This technological approach eliminates the requirement for chemical sensor elements and also the need for factory calibration, which vastly enhances the down time that is typically associated with the Chemical type CO2 sensors and eliminates the number of sensor element spares required. Calibration can be accomplished while installed instead of having to be sent back to the manufacturer for calibration, which improves the maintenance time required for sensor replacement as well as overall life cycle costs.
