ProSoft Technology's Modbus Communication Modules are the fastest and easiest way to connect Modbus networks to the Rockwell Automation® CompactLogix™ system. When the power of the CompactLogix™ processor is combined with the flexibility of the MVI69-MCM Module, users have the threefold benefit of time-savings, cost-savings, and easy implementation.
Ideal for SCADA and Foreign Device Interface applications, Modbus Communication Modules have independently configured Modbus ports that operate as Master and/or Slave with full radio, modem, and multi-drop support. Two active serial ports each support RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485.
General specifications include:
• Single-Slot CompactLogix backplane compatibility
• Module configured using the Generic Profile in the RSLogix programming software
• Supported CompactLogix processors: L20/L30/L35
• MicroLogix 1500 Controller with LRP firmware version 6.0 or better is supported by the module
• Module setup via a simple configuration text file downloaded via Configuration/Debug port
• Configuration data is stored in the module's non-volatile memory
• 60 (default), 120 and 240 word Input/Output data transfer lengths available, user selectable
• 4000 registers (words) available for transfer to and from CompactLogix processor
• Multiple modules can be placed in the same rack; up to the limits of the power supply and backplane data transfer
• Local and Extended rack: The module will function in both the Local and the Extended rack configurations
Applications involving Modbus modules can be found in many different industries including food processing, mining, petrochemical, and, pulp and paper industries.
