Process Engineering Associates, LLC (PROCESS) is a specialty consulting firm specializing in applied chemical engineering. Since 1996, we have provided a wide range of process engineering services to the nuclear materials processing, chemical, petroleum industries, and more.

PROCESS has a number of engineers with extensive DOE/NNSA and NRC experience offering chemical process design, process modeling simulation, test and checkout planning and implementation, startup operations support, operations troubleshooting, and decontamination & decommissioning support.

On United States Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration and Nuclear Regulatory Commission projects our staff has:

• Implemented stringent Conduct of Operations and Project Control procedures
• Interacted with the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board and Nuclear Regulatory Commission
• Supported design, start-up, and decommissioning of numerous nuclear and non-nuclear facilities

• Developed and verified Safety Design Basis, Integrated Safety Analysis and supporting documentation

• Performed HAZOP/Safety System analyses to verify system quality with respect to both safety and operations

Some of our nuclear related projects have included:

PROCESS is leading the process design effort for a commercial nuclear fuels enrichment facility that will be designed to produce mid-grade enriched uranium for nuclear power plants.

PROCESS provided the managing contractor of a major national laboratory with design and startup support for the cooling water, helium, nitrogen, vacuum and off-gas systems for a fundamental nuclear physics user research facility.

PROCESS participated on a readiness assessment team evaluating the remediation of the highly radioactive storage tanks at a major national laboratory.

PROCESS provided design, startup, and operation support for the decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) of a private depleted uranium processing facility.

PROCESS played key roles in the design, startup, and operation of major waste treatment facilities at a nuclear materials processing facility.

PROCESS determined modifications required at a large solid waste management facility to allow this operating landfill to accommodate mixed waste.
