Helping customers find exactly the right drive and/or option package for any of a host of industrial or commercial/HVAC applications is now easier than ever before, with the release today of a new Product Configurator Tool from ABB Inc., Low Voltage Drives.

Use of the tool requires only a basic understanding of variable-frequency drive technology, and a basic set of inputs specific to an application the drive will be used on. These inputs include voltage, horsepower, motor full-load amps, and the enclosure and environmental requirements for the VFD.

With those basics in hand, this tool empowers users to very quickly create complete, professional submittals and proposals. It is a complement to the sales and quoting process that enables distributors of ABB drives, and channel partners, to increase exponentially the accuracy and speed of generating and delivering drive proposals to customers.

The Product Configurator supports all current standard ABB drives sold in the U.S., and further drives products will be added into the tool, as ABB introduces them to the market.

Software tools like the Product Configurator are one of a number of programs that ABB plans to introduce, in support of helping partners and distributors optimize their effectiveness and efficiencies in selling and supporting ABB drives.
