Customer Problem / Situation

Customer wanted to establish a presence in the architectural market with existing product designs using more exotic materials. They had been unable to find a supplier for a Cupra/Nickel 90/10 alloy to be formed into the shape they desired at the proper hardness, corrosion resistance and luster. Stringent demands of the targeted architectural market made for difficult choices.

Profiles Strategy

After extensive research Profiles located the only mill in North America still casting the correct alloy in the form needed to complete the project. Profiles used a proprietary cold forming process to form the material with the right amount of cold working to produce the desired temper and luster. In addition the sharp profile edges made for a difficult profile.

Outcome

Order rec'd for sample run & first order. Customer extremely pleased with the final product and indicated more shapes to follow for bid.

Market differentiator: Willingness to work with broad spectrum of raw materials. Higher quality & precision "cold forming process" vs. extruded matls.

Aggressive marketing and willingness to seek difficult to procure materials leads to orders
