Laser Beam Deflection Units

RAYLASE provides a selection of 2-axis units suitable for various applications starting from the low cost, RL & RLAs to the precise TURBOSCAN, compact MINISCAN and extremely fast SUPERSCAN, SUPERSCAN-SC and the water tempered SUPERSCAN-LD. All these products set industry standards with low drift values and are sold with a combination of lenses.

Functional Description
The RAYLASE 2-axis deflection unit can be used to deflect a laser beam in X and Y directions. This produces a two-dimensional area allowing a laser to be directed at any position. This area is known as the "marking field" as is shown in the diagram. Deflection is performed by two mirrors, each of which is moved by a galvanometer scanner. The deflection unit has a beam input, into which the laser beam is fed, and a beam output, through which a laser beam is emitted from the unit after deflection. Only compatible lasers can be fed into the beam input. Depending on the laser version, the beam output is either open or fitted with an F-Theta lens or protection window.

RL
The RL series deflection units designed with one objective, to reduce the cost per unit of a basic XY- Deflection unit. This has been achieved by a combination of new materials and smart mechanical construction. These units have a universal size and dimension for all available apertures. Also sold as open frame kits.

RLA
The value for money deflection unit range from RAYLASE. The RLA series provides you with reliable and efficient deflection units at competitive prices without cutting corners on quality. The RLA series is available with 10, 15 and 20 mm apertures ideal for use with Nd:YAG and CO2 lasers. The RLAs are true "workhorses" in marking and scribing and represent a highly economical investment. If price is critical then the RLA laser scan heads are just what you need!

MINISCAN
MINISCAN, these mini XY- Deflection units are the smallest in the RAYLASE family, designed for easy integration into compact laser systems. The size and performance ratio of this unit is remarkable, available for various wavelengths in 7,10, 14, 20 mm apertures.

TURBOSCAN
The TURBOSCAN series, available with apertures of 10, 12, 14, 15 and 30 mm, is a class above the RLAs and offers advanced speeds and low drift values. The precision mechanics and tuning achieves greater accuracy and the dielectric mirrors support the use of higher laser powers, up to a maximum of 500 W.

SUPERSCAN
The SUPERSCAN series combines minimum drift performance with top speeds. This combination makes it a true champion among deflection units. The blend of tiny spot diameter and high processing speeds opens up new perspectives in processing materials. The SUPERSCAN series is ideal for processing on the fly, for stereolithography and rapid tooling as well as 3D applications. Also perfect for cutting applications and for deep engraving in mould making. Invest in a SUPERSCAN and maximise your profit.

SUPERSCAN-SC
The SUPERSCAN-SC has a special design featuring lightweight ceramic substrates which provide higher rigidity resulting in faster acceleration times. The SUPERSCAN-SC is extremely fast and precise and is available with a 15mm aperture or the larger 30mm aperture that is commonly used as a module in cutting edge 3-axis laser beam deflection subsystems.

SUPERSCAN-LD
The new SUPERSCAN-LD achieves the best low drift behaviour in the market combined with fast positioning speed and exceptionally high acceleration. These unique results are achieved with water tempering and the use of ultralight and highly rigid ceramic substrates as well as dielectric coated deflection mirrors with integrated cooling fins. Air flushing on the back of the deflection mirrors is available as option, the SUPERSCAN-LD is currently available with a 15 & 30mm Aperture or in combination with a 3-axis deflection subsystem. Other apertures are available on request.
