RDP's GT and D5/D6 series Precision Gageheads, are ideal for gauging and positioning applications where space is restricted and micron accuracy is required. Available in spring-extended and air-actuated mechanical configurations with ranges starting at 0.020 inches. The reliability, small size, and high performance of these units offer excellent solutions for both end user and OEM applications.

The GT series gauging transducer employs high precision linear bearings to optimise the LVDTs measurement repeatability and accuracy. A typical GT unit offers repeatability of +/-0.15 micron (+/- 6 micro-inches) max.

The D5/D6 series utilise a propritary sleeve bearing assembly which for some applications is preferred as it is more resistant to contamination from dirt and can be customised to meet a variety of mechanical and environmental conditions, while still offering and a maximum repeatability of 0.5 micron (20 micro-inches).

Using the well-proven linear variable differential transformer (LVDT) principle delivering infinite resolution with absolute measurement, these units provide accurate information over their full linear range starting at 0.52mm (0.020 inches). The design is robust and reliable and thanks to the LVDT principle where there is no electrical contact across the transducer positioning element the units enjoy a long and trouble-free life. Manufactured from stainless steel, the D5/D6 and GT series family of miniature displacement transducers which used in conjunction with the RDP range of signal conditioning offer excellent solutions for wide range of measurement applications.

In addition to these series we have other standard LVDT models from .020 to 37 inches with a variety of outputs and mechanical configurations.
