Intrinsically Safe Temperature Transmitter SIL 2
Product Announcement from R. STAHL, Inc.
HOUSTON, TX -
R. STAHL has extended its ISpac 9182 range of temperature transmitters by adding a new model suitable for use in safety-related process automation applications according to IEC EN 61508 / 61511. The isolator meets SIL 2 requirements. This new model allows for the design of instrinsically safe circuits incorporating RTD and Themocouple types from B to XK while also incorporating the functional safety requirements of SIL systems are maintained, Highly precise, conversion of the measured values to a 4-20 mA signal to be utilized for process control. Any cable breaks or short circuits between sensor and temperature transmitter ina fault condition are detected and immediately brought to the attention of the plant operator via LED, error contact, and analog output signal. The compact design is easy to handle, install, start up, and operate. It is suitable for DIN rail mounting and /or efficient integration in safety PLCs design as a pac-Carrier component. ISpac 9182 temperature transmitters have a proven track record in a wide range of process automation, machine and plant construction applications worldwide. The new ISpac 9182 model now ensures an even wider application range for the versatile ISpac isolator series in the application and construction of safety-oriented plants in areas with explosive atmospheres.
