New high torque safety couplings for up to 300,000 lbs-ft

The all new model ST safety couplings from R+W incorporate a modular array of individually spring tensioned clutch elements, allowing for high torque in a compact layout, with the easy ability to retrofit and modify. Available with simple flange output or with heavy duty flexible couplings, the ST is ideally suited to the protection of gearboxes, drive shafts, pumps or virtually any other driveline equipment from 300 to 50,000 horsepower. The features:

• Engage / disengage through the use of screws or actuated plates, not hammers
• Very compact layout makes for easy handling and reduced transport cost
• Space for additional clutch elements in case torque must be increased
• Clutch elements available separately for integration into customer designed unit
