Rittal Corporation is introducing its RimatriX Modular UPS, a back-up power solution designed specifically for high-density computing installations.

Ideal for environments and systems where moves, adds and changes are required, this modular power supply offers outstanding power protection for: blade servers, small, medium and large data centers, network closets, PBX and VoIP equipment, networking applications (IPTV and security), storage devices (RAID and SAN) and database clusters. The technology is based on searchdatacenter.com's 2007 Product of the Year for the data center backup power category.

Delivering higher power density than other modular solutions, the RimatriX Modular UPS provides 12 kW of power in only 6U of standard rack space (including batteries), while, at the same time, dissipating one-third of the heat. Along with its small footprint, this modular power solution offers the ability to expand capacity by combining 12 kW modules in a building block fashion to provide 60kW N+1 of redundant backup power in a single 19" rack enclosure. This gives data center managers, engineers and designers the flexibility to handle current requirements while also planning for the future.
