The Dallas stadium is the largest football stadium in America, and is also the longest single span roof structure in the world. It cost over $1.1 billion to build. The roof is the largest and longest retractable roof ever built and has the steepest travel path in North America. The roof panels are 63,000 square feet each and weigh 600 tons. The Dallas roof uses (128) three stage planetary units with a 7.5hp motor on each. There are (64) gearboxes per roof panel - 2 panels. The roof takes 9 minutes to open or close.
