It can be almost impossible to travel during harsh winter weather that is why it is essential to have snow chains- particularly for emergency vehicles, trucks and buses. Many of RUD's leading range of traction chains are designed for vehicles used for clearing the roads when winter storms arrive. Working Machines

The "Bison"

The improved Bison model with its eleven millimeter chain links is especially suitable for use under extreme conditions when clearing snow and in forestry work. The chain mesh is very dense, and at the same time designed for the types of tires used in these fields of work. The chain design ensures exceptional traction – even when used on off-road tires. The Bison 11mm is exceptionally durable with its reversible chain mesh and heavy chain links giving it extended wear life.

RUD has improved the Bison by also increasing the proportion of diagonal pieces in the chain mesh - which is designed for double track configuration. It also has compact grip ribs. Overall, this new chain provides optimal transmission of drive force with very high traction.

The "Alligator" also suitable for mid-sized vehicles

RUD has also improved the Alligator chain for commercial vehicles. The Alligator can be fitted to a wide variety of tire profiles. Specially developed short links ensure even better support for the tire tread. That ensures very good traction and optimal transmission of the torque. The Alligator plus also runs very smoothly, and offer a long life.

The Alligator Plus is especially suitable for mid-sized commercial vehicles. However it also performs very well on heavy vehicles. Municipal snow clearance is one of its main fields of use.

The "Super Greifsteg"

The top of the range RUD- Supergreifsteg model, with its innovative technology, performs well when clearing snow, and also off the road (e.g. construction-site vehicles).

These chains are distinguished by their high resistance to wear, good traction, and are also particularly easy on the tires. The comparatively slender chain mesh provides smoother running and tensile strength, and can bring trucks and trailers safely up long inclines. The Super Greifsteg wear-bars increase traction and have a flexible design and are reversible for extended life.

The "RUD-matic Maxi"

Buses carry the most valuable load, people. Most people do not want to have to wait for a long time before continuing their winter journey – not even when the driver is putting on snow chains for their safety. RUD offers the Maxi, designed especially for buses, a chain with the RUD-matic quick fitting system. A spring steel inner hoop automatically closes the chain behind the wheel. With this RUD system, for the first time, fitting the chain on the tire is comparable to that of car chains.
