The P-type has been developed from the V-type to improve the performance with the refrigerant R410A, which has been designed to minimize ozone depletion and global warming in line with the Kyoto Protocol. In addition to this the P-type has thinner plates to minimize consumption of material. The P-type will be used as an evaporator in chiller and heat pump applications over a wide range of capacities at the lower end of the scale.
