Almost all of Saint-Gobain's Norglide® maintenance free bearings can be manufactured as a thin wall bearing for a variety of applications. Thin wall or thin section bearings have advantages over conventional bearings, in addition to all the standard features of Norglide Bearings, thin wall bearings are light weight, have a small cross section, easy to press fit, are lead free and self lubricating. Norglide thin wall bearings are ideal where space limitations exist, an increase in shaft or pivot diameter is required or in unique shapes for custom applications. Norglide Bearings, known in automotive applications for door hinges, shock absorbers, seat linkages, hood, and trunk mechanisms, brakes, suspension and transmission assemblies also have many applications in the appliance, office equipment, machine tool, aircraft, compressor, pump, and valve industries.
