EMC filters must often be installed in an electrical or electronic device or case together with other electrical components. As attention is paid to the smallest possible size, there is often insufficient space to integrate standard chassis filters. For this purpose, Schaffner can design internal filters according to your requirements.

Open frame filters are single-phase or multi-phase EMC filters based on printed circuit boards without case which can be developed and manufactured by Schaffner according to your specific requirements. Thereby, you can count on their many years of experience in the EMC filters area and they will help you to realize your specific requirements and needs. Specifications such as the following are adapted to your technical and commercial desires for internal filters:

The finished, tested and certified filter module can thus be inserted in your application on time with exact fitting.

Internal filters can be developed according to the following typical, electrical specifications:

• Maximum continuous operating voltage: 520VAC per phase
• Number of wires: 1 to 4 wires
• Operating frequency: dc up to 400Hz
• Current range: 1 to 80A per phase @ 50°C
• Overload: 4x rated current for 1 minute, once per hour
• Temperature range (operation and storage): -40°C to +100°C (40/100/21)
• Flammability according to: UL 94V-2 or better
• Design according to: UL 1283, CSA 22.2 No. 8 1996, IEC/EN 60939
