There is a broad field of application in medical technology for cooling and transport of fluids.
Circulation pumps for cooling water
These pumps are typically used in medical examination apparatuses or laboratory measurement units for the cooling of lasers, X-ray tubes, or electromagnet coils. The materials were designed for pumping water without the use of expensive stainless steels. This enables high differential pressure to be generated at moderate cost. Magnetic coupling also makes these pumps hermetically sealed and able to handle supply pressure.
Circulation pumps for coolants
Magnetic resonance tomography (also known as magnetic resonance imaging or MRI) generates strong magnetic fields. The corresponding energy dissipation in the process is very high and the surplus heat must be removed from the coils and transformers.
