Due to extremy high diesel fuel prices, substantial savings can be realized when diesel engines are converted to vegetable oil operation. Savings per liter amount to approximately US $0.65 and with an average consumption of 30 l/100 km and an operational performance of 120,000 km/yr, up to US $23,400.00 can be saved over a year per vehicle. Standard diesel injection pumps for trucks are not able to draw fuel out of the holding tank due to the higher viscosity of vegetable oil which can result in cavitation on the suction side. Manufacturers offer conversion kits to solve this problem. Their pump is part of this booster conversion kit. Pump Type: External Gear Pump - Based on Pump Model 52FAR/FBR
- Gray Cast Iron with Viton shaft sealing, Gears and Shafts made out of case-hardened-steel
- Output 2.4 l/min and 3.2 l/min at rated speed respectively
- For Vegetable Oil, although Diesel and Biodiesel are possible as well
- Continuous operation: 5 bar Differential Pressure, Intermittant to 8 bar
- With or without By-Pass Valve available in versions 0 - 3 bar or 3 -10 bar Drive: 12 or 24 VDC Motor Drive - Rotation speed at approximately 1300 RPM
- Direct Current Motor with brushes
- Measured operating life during endurance tests at 1.5A/24V at 10,000hours. This corresponds to 2 years of operational life. After that the Pump and Motor have to be replaced during a service interval.
- Protection Class IP65
- Operational at vehicle voltage with interference suppression
