Model 4 and Model 6 Manual Nameplate Presses
The Schmidt nameplate marking presses are comfortable to operate, almost effortless and may be operated from either a standing or sitting position. Plates and tags are easy to read, with lettering evenly spaced, accurately aligned and uniformly deep – from tag to tag and from shift to shift.
No special skills are required to produce great looking, legible valve tags, dog tags or nameplates after only a few minutes of instruction and a couple of practice tags. The nameplate presses are so simple to operate; anyone can master the four step operation:
1. Adjust the depth and alignment settings. 2. Position a nameplate on the table. 3. Select the desired character (letter or number). 4. Make the mark with one short lever stroke – the table automatically advances for the next character when the operator returns the handle.
The Model 4 and 6 are virtually identical except the smaller Model 4 accepts plates up to 4" deep, while the Model 6 can handle plates up to 8" deep.
Model 990SST Electronic Nameplate Marker
The Model990SST is a compact desktop nameplate marker that offers the versatility of advanced programming plus accurate, powerful, quiet performance. From the moment a blank nameplate in inserted and clamped into the 990SST, the marking process is automated.
Marking information can be stored in the unit's memory, or when integrated with a pc, it can come directly from the computer. The through beam edge finding feature on the controller automatically provides accurate positioning of the nameplate and ensure repeatability from nameplate to nameplate. Once the nameplate is in position, the nameplate indexes from its top left corner directly to the X-Y coordinates of the first marking position.
Enough power has been incorporated into the 990SST to mark ΒΌ" characters into stainless steel plates. At the same time, the use of a DC motor and gear box means an amazingly quiet operation without the noise of a brake and clutch operation. Plus, Schmidt lettering dials are made of hardened tool steel to ensure long life.
While the 990SST is quiet enough to be used in an office environment, it is rugged and durable enough to use in production areas out on the plant floor. The large 6" x 6" marking field will accommodate almost any nameplate and fast marking speeds of at least 120 characters per minute.
