Brushless, Ironless Design

An Airex linear motor is the ideal drive for a wide array of applications requiring precision positioning, ultra-smooth motion, travels ranging from mm to meters, high speed, high acceleration, or fast move and settle times. Linear motors eliminate "banding" or periodic variations common with screw, belt, or rack & pinion drives. In addition, Airex's ironless motors do not exhibit the "cogging" found in other linear motor designs. Linear motor tracks may be stacked end-to-end for almost unlimited travel without increasing load inertia, which often limits long screw and belt drives. Lastly, Airex's non-contact linear motors do not wear out or need periodic maintenance.
