SCT offers a variety of lathe tools. All single point tools are designed for internal machining on a lathe. The helical boring bars can be used for both lathe and mill applications. All cutting tools are made from premium sub-micron carbide and are stocked with our without a TiALN coating.
Single Point Holders:
Coolant Holders have two flats on the shank, two coolant holes, and four set screws. They
can be used with or without the Back Stop. Standard holders have two set screws and no flats
on the shank.
Radial Relief Boring Bars:
Radial Relief Boring Bars have a radial relief behind the cutting edge that provides for a
strong cutting edge.
Mini-Boring Bars come in a range of diameters from 0.015 to 0.045 of an inch. They are
fluted to retain maximum strength.
Boring Bars come in both right hand and left hand cut. The right hand cut boring bars
come with or without a corner radius. The radius provides improved surface finish and
performance. These boring bars feature a primary and secondary relief behind the cutting
Diamond Tipped Boring Bars:
PCD Tipped Boring Bars are for cutting abrasive non-ferrous materials. CBN Tipped Boring
Bars are for cutting hard cast iron and ferrous metal over 45 RC.
Helical Boring Bars:
Helical Boring Bars have a helical flute that produces less side cutting pressure. This facilitates cutting unfavorable length-to-diameter ratios.
Profile Boring Bars:
Profile Boring Bars are ideal for internal profiling on CNC lathes.
Back Chamfer Boring Bars:
Back Chamfer Boring Bars are designed to bore a diameter and cut a chamfer at the end of
a hole. They also excel for cutting thread reliefs.
Acme Threading Tools:
Acme Threading Tools come in both stub acme and full acme profiles.
Thread Tools Qualified:
Thread Tools Qualified have a positive top rake on the flute and a qualified length from the
thread form to the back of the tool.

Retaining Ring Groove Tools cut an internal groove with straight edges.
Groove Tools – Full Radius:
Full Radius Groove Tools cut an internal groove with straight edges and a full radius.
O-Ring Groove Tools:
O-Ring Groove Tools are ideal for machining a groove with tapered sides.
Undercut Groove Tools:
Undercut Groove tools are offered in two different styles: with or without a radius. They
are ideal for undercutting a sharp inside corner. The undercut tool with a radius can also be
used as a profile tool.
Face Groove Tools:
Face Groove Tools cut a groove in the face of the part.
