Seaward Group USA introduces the SafeCheck 5S electrical appliance tester, the world's largest supplier of safety test instruments. The latest addition to the company's range of safety instruments, the SafeCheck 5S is an economical, easy-to-use automatic or manual test instrument designed to ensure the electrical safety of equipment in a range of industries, including construction, services, and rental.
Designed specifically for the testing of power tools and extension cords, the SafeCheck 5S simplifies a comprehensive test routine with features like semi-automatic testing that walks the operator through the test and provides clear pass/fail indications. Particularly valuable for applications where tools may incorporate an integral "no volt" operating switch, the SafeCheck 5S performs tests that include Ground Bond, Short Test, Leakage, and Continuity and Polarity of extension or power cords.
The SafeCheck 5S tests ground bonds with current up to 10A Pass level 0.5?. Its short test line to ground has an open circuit test voltage nominal 8V AC Fail trip equivalent to a 7mA leakage. Its short test line to neutral has an open circuit test voltage nominal 8V AC Fail trip set to 3?. The instrument tests for Run Leakage with equipment running at supply voltage and Leakage measurement for fail set at 0.75mA. Additionally, the SafeCheck 5S's Ground Bond test for extension cords is an end-to-end test on ground conductor with 0.5? fail point 12V continuity/polarity test end-to-end line and neutral conductors.
