More Choices for Performance and Value
AvaSpire modified PEEK (polyetheretherketone) grades are formulated to meet specific application requirements. Products in the AV-600 series and AV-700 series capitalize on the ultra-performance of Solvay's nucleophilic KetaSpire PEEK resin, with some grades offering more attractive economics.
New AV-700 Series: Lower-Cost Alternative to PEEK
The AvaSpire® AV-700 series is a new line of modified PEEK grades that fill the cost/performance gap between high-performance crystalline polymers (PPS, LCP, and high-temperature nylon) and PEEK, an ultra-performance crystalline polymer. These proprietary PEEK-based formulations – available in unreinforced, reinforced, and wear-resistant grades – offer comparable strength and modulus, equivalent or better chemical resistance, and up to a 30% cost reduction versus comparable PEEK grades.
Key Features
• Comparable strength and stiffness to PEEK
• Equivalent or better chemical resistance
• Up to 30% cost reduction
Typical Applications
• Automotive
• Bushings
• Bearings
• Oil & Gas
• Semiconductors
• Chemical Processing
• Industrial
AV-600 Series: Higher ductility and modulus between 150-190°C
Products in the AV-600 series deliver higher elongation and stiffness between
150°C and 190°C than comparable PEEK grades. They have lower crystallinity than PEEK, which gives them better dimensional stability and lower warpage.
The light color of the resin provides good part aesthetics and excellent colorability.
