FAIRVIEW, PA – November 2005 – Spectrum Control's complete line of standard and custom filter plates can now be ordered to meet RoHS compliance standards for EMI filtered signal lines. Spectrum Control has redesigned all of its components to meet the stricter requirements of the European Community Directive 2002/95/EC that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
Spectrum Control markets Easy Mate®, Easy Mate® Jr., bolt-in, and custom filter plates. Designed for snap-in installation into the chassis, Easy Mate® filter plates reduce installation time and prep work costs. Both the Easy Mate® and Easy Mate® Jr. filter plates feature multiple finger ground contacts that provide the lowest path of impedance for noise to ground, and EMI filtering from 5 MHz to 18 GHz. The Easy Mate® filter plates offer flexible mounting density with 0.100 inches and 2 mm centers.
Spectrum Control's bolt-in filter plates eliminate the need to mount filters into bulkheads. These filter plates offer excellent filtering from 5 MHz to 1 GHz, as well as mixed capacitance values and circuits. Spectrum bolt-in filter plates are available in various plate sizes with up to 74 lines per plate (hi-density), and 60 pins per plate (standard density).
Custom-designed filter plates may be specified to meet a variety of size, filtering, or material requirements. Contact Spectrum Control for additional details on custom filter plates. Connecting to the filter plates can be done using ribbon style connectors, harnesses, hard wiring, or soldering. Maximizing real estate on the PCB, Spectrum filter plates are used by the government and in telecommunication, medical, and industrial applications. Pricing for the RoHS compliant filter arrays ranges from $5 to $90, consistent with Spectrum's standard non-compliant filters.
