Star Micronics has developed a heat-resistant, high-quality, on-vehicle, dynamic speaker, the "SAC-30A", and its low-profile version, the "SAC-30C", and commenced the sale of the two speaker models to on-vehicle electrical component and on-vehicle electrical equipment manufacturers.

The "SAC-30A" and the "SAC-30C" are the successors to the "SAA-30A", an alarm sound speaker adopted by major car component manufacturers. The "SAA-30A" was developed for use to produce an alarm sound, and which can also simultaneously emulate a relay "blinker" sound "tic-toc". The SAA-30 speaker has been widely adopted for its excellent performance under temperature changes, especially under high temperature, which is completely different from that of ordinary dynamic speakers; resulting in a truly "high performance automotive speaker". In addition to the heat resistance of the former model, the new, upgraded "SAC-30A" and "SAC-30C" have flat acoustic characteristics tuned with emphasis on sound quality, which even enables the reproduction of musical tones and speech sounds. The "SAC-30A" has pin terminals and can be directly soldered on a substrate, while the "SAC-30C" has lead wires and has a low profile. The two models satisfy the needs of car component manufacturers for a speaker that can produce various alarm sounds, and also is suitable for use in electrical equipment such as car TVs and navigation systems; and upholding the same high performance qualities of their successor, the SAA-30A. We expect a great future demand for the products in the "telematics"(note) market where there is a growing demand for both "heat-resistant" and "high-quality" speakers.

(Note) "Telematics" A service to provide various information, such as traffic reports, nearby Points of Interest, music and entertainment through a telecommunication system mounted within an automobile.
