Star Micronics newest surface mount audio transducer is the NFT-03A. This is one of the industry's smallest audio surface mount transducers, only 5 mm x 5mm x 3 mm. The SPL is not compromised by the size, this SMT has an average SPL of 80dBA measured at 10 cm. The design to the internal cavity structure has eliminated the need for an externally designed cavity. The NFT-03A is also LEAD FREE, this feature offers many applications for projects requiring environmentally safe components. The rated voltage is 3 volts, with a maximum operating voltage of 4 volts. Reference frequency is 4000 Hz and coil DC resistance is 17 +3 Ù. This part is also reflowable*

*What does "reflowable" mean? The word "reflowable" means the condition being able to resist high heat (max. 240°C) used in the reflow soldering process where a pc board with cream solder applied and with component parts automatically mounted by the chip-mounter is fed on the belt conveyor through the reflow oven.
