If the physical layer doesn't work, nothing else will work
Synapse provides reliable 802.15.4 hardware:
• Receive amplifier (10 dBm) standard
• Optional, transmit amplifier (18 dBm) for best-in-class range (up to 3 miles LOS)
• Embedded or SMA antenna
• 19 GPIO, and 8 can be A/D inputs
• Two UART ports for control or transparent data
• Low power modes; 2.5 μA with internal timer running
• Socketable
• FCC certified on all 16 channels
• Spread spectrum (DSSS) technology surmounts noisy environments
IEEE 802.15.4 RF module:
Synapse's RF Engines are small, low-powered, 2.4 GHz plug-in transmitter-receiver modules with a LOS range of up to three miles and power consumption as low as 2.5 uA. The RF Engine Modules all come pre-loaded with the Synapse SNAP network stack and will immediately integrate into the SNAP network and start routing signals from other nodes. Typical applications include a wireless serial port, sensor monitoring, actuator control, or an intelligent embedded controller - the possibilities are limitless. Synapse RF Engine modules can be used in conjunction with off-the-shelf SNAP nodes or to power custom wireless nodes that have been developed by third-parties such as the end-user.
