The TS420 is ideal for applications that include: water treatment facilities, refineries, manholes, sewers, boilers, silos, vessels, vats, pipelines, tunnels, storage tanks, and underground vaults. These environments are all notorious for rapidly changing atmospheric conditions that can endanger the lives of construction and maintenance staff.

Slight decreases to normal atmospheric oxygen content, which typically ranges from 15 - 19 percent by volume, cause impaired coordination and circulation. Depletion to the 12 - 14 % by volume level impairs respiration and judgment, in volumes of 8 - 10% unconsciousness occurs, and in 6 - 8% and below, death occurs in a matter of minutes. Detectors like the TS420 save lives. With its compact size measuring just 1.75 by 4.5 inches and weighing only 8 oz. the rugged TS420 is well suited to confined areas where space is in short supply. A two-wire loop-powered 4-20mA analog output signal provides remote alarm and fault indication, as well as eliminating the need for an output loop supply, which reduces installation and cabling costs.
