Conventional glass sealing technology leaves a porous metal oxide interface between the glass and metal, but Tekna Seal's proprietary Oxide-Free glass sealing technology provides a direct chemical bond between the glass and metal with no residual oxide. This Oxide-Free process makes seals with leak rates too low to detect with conventional helium mass spectrometer equipment. The Oxide-Free process has years of proven performance in the production of wide range vacuum gages and trapped reference vacuum aircraft air data instruments.
For applications requiring high bake-out temperatures, Tekna Seal's Ceramic Glass can be used to manufacture feedthrus that can be safely baked to about 400°C. The Ceramic Glass material also allows the manufacture of feedthrus with pins made of pure nickel or copper for high current applications.
Each high vacuum feedthru is custom designed for the specific customer application, so unconventional configurations are no problem.
