The F-Scan® Mobile is a complete system that records bipedal plantar pressures and forces. It uses the same time-tested, paper-thin insole sensors as the F-Scan system. The Mobile's unique design allows foot pressure/force movies to be recorded without cables extending between the PC and subject. As a result, a greater degree of flexibility is achieved for measuring foot pressure and forces while running, jumping, climbing, and in sports. This, in addition to the normal walking, gait analysis, and diabetic assessment that the F-Scan is renowned for.
Extremely fast sampling speeds and the large data file recording capacity are just a couple of the very unique features of the F-Scan Mobile. The Mobile scans both feet up to 500 times per second (500Hz), at a rate of 960,000 sensing elements per second, and utilizes onboard storage for very lengthy pressure movie recordings (up to 20,000 frames) to meet the most demanding sports application requirements.
To use the F-Scan Mobile, the subject straps the lightweight receiver unit and battery pack to their waist, attaches the F-Scan cuffs to their ankles, and places the F-Scan insole into their shoes. The receiver unit stores all of the foot pressure/force information measured by the insoles allowing the subject to move about freely, untethered, and virtually anywhere. The Mobile attaches to a PC via USB cable to transfer test parameters and data, real-time viewing of data is available in "PC connected" mode.
The data collected is in the same format as the F-Scan, and is easily shared between the F-Scan Mobile system and the F-Scan system.
When you combine the advantages of the F-Scan Mobile with the extremely thin sensors (0.15mm), you have a system that introduces minimal disruption to your subject's gait. The benefit is that you get a truer and thus more accurate measurement of the pressure and force phenomenon you are studying.
