Windows NT® based Data Acquisition Software

Windows NT® based Data Acquisition Software

Product Description

The Monitor Labs RegPerfect™ data acquisition software system is the newest Monitor Labs data acquisition handling and reporting system. It leverages more than 20 years of experience in the data acquisition system business from both Monitor Labs and Odessa Engineering. RegPerfect™ is designed to comply with the data collection, quality assurance, and report requirements of federal EPA (i.e., 40CFR60, 40CFR75 EDR V2.1, etc.), state (i.e., OTC NOx Budget Program, permit, etc.), and local regulatory agencies. Operating in real time, this rugged stand-alone PC based platform provides the visibility and connectivity for all your environmental and operational needs related to the performance of your Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) systems.

Two Types of Tabular Displays

Using Microsoft® WindowsNT® Server 4.0, Monitor Labs has developed as a part of the RegPerfect™ data acquisition system a windows user interface for graphical trending, tabular displays, alarm notification, and reporting. RegPerfect™ minimizes operator involvement by calculating permitted parameters, verifying measurement system integrity, and implementing data substitution algorithms when required to provide certified data for reporting. The alarm notification feature prompts an operator for real-time reason code/event comment input to make downtime and excess emissions reporting easier. RegPerfect™ intelligently interfaces to many types of CEM systems including the ML®660 dry-extractive system, ML®675 dilution extractive system, ML®In Situ systems (LS710), and Continuous Opacity Monitoring Systems (COMS); as well as other CEM systems through either a GE 90-30 series programmable logic controller, AB PLC 5 series programmable logic controller, Odessa Engineering datalogger (DSM 3260's) or SPLC, or Bailey Controls INFI 90 and NET 90 control system (consult factory for specifics). Up to five such devices can be connected to one RegPerfect™ system (see factory for connecting more than five systems). A serial connection will be provided for all of the intelligent interfaces to RegPerfect™. A Protocol Interface Node (PIN) will no longer be required in the system for those upgrading from the ea2 product.

Database Description

RegPerfect™ data acquisition software will utilize Microsoft® SQL® Server as its database foundation. With extensive experience in gas emissions monitoring for environmental compliance, Monitor Labs has designed a database structure using SQL® Server with the stack CEM system and regulatory data reporting requirements in mind that is both efficient, accurate and reliable. One will be capable of database editing and reporting through RegPerfect's windows user interfaces. In addition, one will be able to add other customized reports through the use of Seagate® Crystal Reports which comes as a part of the standard product.

Network Connectivity

RegPerfect™ is designed specifically with client-server architecture in mind. One will be capable of attaching the RegPerfect™ DAS to the network via a TCP/IP 10/100baseT network card and be able to run RegPerfect™ client software applications from PCs running Microsoft® WindowsNT® Workstation or Server located on the network or through Remote Access Server (RAS). The RegPerfect™ reporting and alarms functions were designed to provide email capability. Provided that a Microsoft® Exchange® Server (or other compatible mail server, consult factory for details) is running on the network, both reports and alarms can be configured to be sent to an email address (e.g., alphanumeric pager that has an internet email address for alarms) providing one connectivity to your CEM system without hovering over the data acquisition system. One will be able to design Internet or Intranet based web pages that could access the SQL® Server database. The capabilities are only limited by the technical advances of Microsoft or other designing software based upon Microsoft principals.

Regulatory Compliance

RegPerfect™ is designed to meet the environmental reporting requirements found in 40CFR60 and 40CFR75 (EDR V2.0/V2.1), most state and local reporting requirements, and the NOx Budget Trading Programs.

RegPerfect Server Hardware

RegPerfect™ Server will be provided with an Intel type Pentium II processor, two SCSI 4 GB hard drives, 256 MB RAM, 32x SCSI CD-ROM drive, 3.5" diskette drive, data archive and backup media (TBD), 16-bit sound card, keyboard, mouse, 56K modem, TCP/IP 10 baseT network card, (8 port) multiport serial card, and a (minimum size recommended) 17" SVGA monitor. This is the minimum hardware platform, for more sophisticated hardware, please consult the factory (e.g., Compaq servers with array controller, etc.).

RegPerfect® Server Software

RegPerfect™ Server will be provided with Microsoft® WindowsNT® Server V4.0 (10 user license), Microsoft® SQL® Server V7.0 (10 user license), Microsoft® Office Professional, Seagate® Crystal Reports Professional, and RegPerfect™ software for the stand alone data acquisition system.
