It can reduce product development time and help get higher quality products to market faster. Accelerating a product's potential failures can help reduce production, warranty, and related field failure costs.
AST Systems apply aggressive environmental stresses which accelerate product fatigue and expose defects that might take months or even years to surface under normal operating conditions. Extreme stresses are imparted to products under test through ultra high rates of temperature change in excess of 70°C/min and multi-axes, repetitive shock vibration capable of producing acceleration forces over 50 g's. AST systems provide a cost-effective and more affordable alternative to newcomers to Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) techniques.
The liquid nitrogen cooled chamber features a high volume, adjustable air distribution system capable of pinpointing rapid airflow directly over the product. The large door located near the controller provides access to the internal chamber workspace and facilitates convenient product attachment and interconnects. The repetitive shock vibration system uses durable, long lasting Teflon-coated impactors. The vibration system incorporates a unique thermal isolation system designed to minimize thermal loading on the chamber and provide a stable condition for impactor operation.
Any Accelerated Stress Test regimen, whether it be ART, DV, FAST, HALT, RET, or STRIFE, requires that the product be continuously monitored while stresses are being applied. Thermotron's Product Test Systems (PTS) can electronically stimulate and monitor multiple product parameters while under stress. The information obtained by the PTS on where, when, and how products fail is crucial to successful failure mode analysis.
