Cast acrylic rod is regarded for its excellent optical clarity, high tensile strength, and outstanding light transmission. It is easily fabricated, shatter resistant and very durable. It replaces extruded or molded acrylics because of better machining properties, greater clarity, better resistance to heat distortion and higher tensile strength. It is unaffected by sunlight or fluorescent light and resists aging and maintains stability under a wide range of conditions. Cast acrylic rod has up to seventeen times greater impact resistance than glass while weighing half as much. Acrylic rod is used commonly in displays, signs, the food and beverage industry and in architectural applications.
