Tri-M Group, LLC (The) - A 43% Reduction in Annual Energy Spending

See Service Details

The original Andover System was installed at Kutztown University in 1988 as part of a campus-wide performance contract with CES/Way, the largest independent energy service company in the United States. The overall project consisted of de-centralization of the chilled water plant; upgrades to the central steam plant; and installa-tion of a campus-wide energy management system. Upon completion, the project provided a payback of less than 3 years to the University.

Since the original installation, we have more than doubled the size of the system and upgraded it first from the original Andover AC256 platform to the newest Andover Continuum products. We now control 4,800+ points in 28 buildings on the campus.

In addition to demand management and other energy management functions programmed into the original system, we have added monitoring of electric utilities, lighting control, monitoring of the campus water tower, as well as several new/renovated buildings on campus.

The entire system was networked in an extremely cost effective manner by utilizing the existing campus TCP/IP network, which provides the path for high speed interface to the system. The system is centrally monitored at the campus Maintenance Building utilizing Andover's Continuum Cyberstation graphical user interface, which provides the University with the ability to view and analyze data through a variety of built-in data management tools.

Tri-M continues to provide Energy Management Solutions to Kutztown University by continually updating/upgrading the existing systems to keep pace with continued growth on the University Campus.
