Kistler Instrument Corporation is pleased to announce the release of a new, Triaxial K-BEAM Accelerometer Series featuring three layer silicon micro-machined sensing elements for steady state and dynamic measurements. The 8393A Accelerometer is available in three basic models having measuring ranges of ± 2, ± 10 and ± 25 g and sensitivities of 1000, 200 & 80 mV/g respectively. The output at zero g is fixed at 0 volts DC ± 30 mV. The 8393A2 K-Beam Accelerometer is ideal for making steady state or low level, low frequency measurements with a resolution of 540 mg over a frequency range of 0 to 300 Hz.

The triax accelerometer is a completely calibrated sensor, combining sensing elements and integrated electronics packaged in an environmentally sealed, hard anodized aluminum, ground isolated housing. The sensor operates from a single power supply between 3.8 and 16 VDC, with 4 mA typical current consumption. It will operate over a temperature range of -40 to +85 °C, withstand 6,000 g shock and 20 grams random vibration without degradation in performance.

Applications include: vehicle ride and structural analysis; building and bridge vibration measurement; robotics; motion/stability control systems; human motion and seismic ground movement; steady state and low level, low frequency acceleration measurement.
