The ROV series expands Raychem Circuit Protection's offering of circuit protection options and can offer the circuit board designer a complete overcurrent/overvoltage solution. The ROV device's high current-handling and energy absorption capability, fast response, and low cost can make it suitable for use in line voltage applications. For example, pairing the device with Raychem Circuit Protection's PolySwitch™ LVR overcurrent protection device can help provide a completely resettable circuit protection solution for power supplies, surge strips, and control board transformers. In addition, ROV devices can be combined with PolySwitch devices to provide protection for electric motors.

ROVs Advantage

The addition of the ROV device gives designers the ability to specify a coordinated overcurrent and overvoltage solution. The ROV devices are available in 5 to 20mm diameters, and are rated from 18 to 1800V. The ROV devices are also available in radial-leaded configurations, and can be supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for compatibility with high-volume assembly. Many have UL, CSA and VDE certifications.
