Designing for Safety Compliance in Industrial Control Panels UL 508A
The introduction of the new Article 409 for Industrial Control Panels in the 2005 edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC) drew increased attention to installations of industrial control panels. Industrial control panels (ICPs) with the UL Mark are installable to the NEC and have a distinct competitive edge in the marketplace.
This comprehensive one-day workshop focuses on how to construct general use industrial control panels in accordance with the Standard for Industrial Control Panels, UL 508A, 1st Edition. This workshop covers UL 508A, general use ICP construction, rating and marking requirements, sections 1-61; enclosure construction requirements, sections 62-64; component requirements, supplement SA and appendices A and B. Each participant will receive a participant workbook and a copy of the UL 508A Standard.
Short-Circuit Current Ratings of Industrial Control Panels UL 508A, Supplement B
This half-day workshop instructs existing industrial control panel customers on how to establish short-circuit ratings for individual industrial control panels in accordance with the requirements outlined in the new Standard for Industrial Control Panels, UL 508A, 1st Edition, Supplement SB. This supplement is the only method specifically noted as being approved by the 2005 NEC. Through course activities, students will demonstrate how to identify and calculate short-circuit ratings.
Test, Measurement and Laboratory Use Equipment: Designing for Compliance to UL 61010-1
If you work with laboratory equipment and/or test and measuring equipment and similar products covered by UL 61010-1 and IEC 61010-1, you will add important, practical skills to your technical capabilities. This intensive technical workshop includes: how to apply the "two levels of protection" concept, measuring creepage and clearance based on the voltages and materials involved, and selecting components of appropriate integrity for use in non-energy limiting circuits.
This workshop features additional topics including: The use of Amendments, Part 2 particular standards (i.e. for probes and centrifuges), the CB Scheme, and the benefits of using high integrity components. You will also learn about the national differences contained in UL 61010-1. You will also have the opportunity to participate in practical application exercises in a cooperative team environment. An optional in-vitro diagnostic directive module will be provided after the main workshop concludes on the second day.
Test, Measurement and Laboratory Use Equipment: Designing for Compliance to IEC 61010-1: Transition to the 3rd Edition
This two-day workshop is presented by experienced UL engineers who evaluate products for certification to U.S. and international standards for measurement, control and laboratory equipment. This workshop will help you gain a thorough understanding of how to prepare for the changes brought about with the issuance of IEC 61010-1, 3rd Edition which was released June 2010.
IEC 61010-1 3rd Edition differences include:
New informative section explaining how to determine the working voltage of a mains circuit
