UPC is pleased to announce our newest innovation - the Transducer Status Indicator (TSI). The Model 5400 ultrasonic cleaning generator now has a patent pending transducer monitoring circuit that indicates the operational condition of the transducers that it is powering. Each LED monitors a set of six transducers or 500 Watts. If the transducers fail in any set, the associated LED will turn off. This is a technological breakthrough in the ultrasonic industry. No other manufacturer offers a capability to indicate the operational condition of their transducers. The traditional way to tell if the transducers are operating properly is to perform an aluminum foil test which involves immersing a piece of aluminum foil in an operating tank and observing the cavitation marks on the surface of the foil. The operator must compare it with the sample (hopefully) that he/she did when the system was new to determine if there is any noticeable difference. The benefits of the TSI circuit include a simple design and quick visual reference. The TSI indicates the system is operating optimally, it is excellent for process monitoring, and the signal can be outputted externally.
